Today’s word is Unfaithful; being unfaithful to yourself.
Unfaithful to who?
To your close friend?
Who has always stood by you?
Unfaithful to who?
To your girlfriend?
The same person you spent countless hours trying to woo?
Unfaithful to who?
To your parents?
Who brought you into this world, when nothing you knew.
Unfaithful to who?
To your organisation?
Which gave you the choicest of opportunities and ensured you grew?
Unfaithful to who?
To god?
The god you turned to for support when no one else wanted to?
Unfaithful to who?
Unfaithful to everyone?
Or unfaithful to you?
All images within you, no doubt; the friend, the family, the boss, the god, the lover.
Be unfaithful all you want, if that’s how you wield your power.
People will come and people will go.
The only one hurt will be you, forever.
Note: This is an experiment I started a few days ago. I write about the first word that comes to my mind. I write spontaneously. No thinking, planning, researching. Obviously, a lot of what I write will come from what I’ve read. I don’t claim that what I’m writing is accurate or what I’ve experienced. It is what comes to my mind when I think about the word. Also, I’m not following any format. The other posts in this series:
