Tired to the bones
Dead to the world
The slightest of whimper
She wakes up
Instinctively knowing
Her child’s hunger schedule
She sleeps when her child sleeps
She plays when her child plays
Bouts of joy keep her going
When her child smiles
When her child recognises her
When she feels the warmth of her child
Some days she gets sleep
Some days she’s ready to collapse
But knowing it all pays off in the end
She lives in sync with the child
Only a matter of time
Before the child starts living in sync
In sync with the mother
And before they know it
Their lives are in complete harmony
What if we could meet our lives like that?
